    Intent:

    People in a free society must be able to identify the modes of oppression and establish a firm and unwavering intolerance of them in order to protect and conserve their individual and collective liberty.

    Proposal:

    Educate people about the modes of oppression and train them to recognize the modes of oppression and to call them out when they observe or experience them.

    Educate and train people about how to confront and oppose any attempt at oppression.

    Educate and train people about how to defy, resist, and counter oppression to defend and restore liberty.

    Include age-appropriate education about modes of oppression in public schools. Include a comprehensive education about modes of oppression in universities. Include training about recognizing and calling out modes of oppression to volunteers and paid staff in community organizations and to professionals in corporate training programs.

    Discussion:

    Modes of oppression are forms of government, societal structures, and behaviors that are antithetical to a free society and to individual liberty.

    People who support modes of oppression will use the vocabulary of freedom to describe their behavior such as they are merely exercising their rights and liberties, or that they are fighting for freedom, and they will accuse others of trying to violate their rights and liberties.

    The modes of oppression must be recognized because without a cognizance of the real forces at work, people can be persuaded or manipulated into allowing the modes of oppression to expand and eventually destroy the free society.

    Note that some modes of oppression involve beliefs in addition to behaviors. The beliefs associated with modes of oppression must be taught in public education to develop resistance and intolerance to them. The behaviors associated with modes of oppression must be taught in public education for the same reason and must also be prohibited by law and enforced by government action.

    In alphabetical order, the modes of oppression are:

    * Authoritarianism
    * Cults
    * Domestic violence
    * Racism
    * Sexism
    * Slavery
    * Terrorism

    This list may be incomplete. When other modes of oppression are identified, they should be added to this list.
