Intent
To prevent the harms of inbreeding.
Proposal
No two people having a biological relationship listed below shall produce offspring by sexual intercourse or any other method:
* parent and child
* grandparent and grandchild
* parent’s sibling (aunt or uncle) and child
* siblings
* first cousins
Discussion
The prohibition on sex protects minors and young adults from abusive or non-consensual relationships with more mature adults. The prohibition on incest further protects young adults under the age of 25 from incestuous relationships other young adults or with fully mature adults over the age of 25. Those prohibitions focus on sexual activity and romantic relationships.
This proposed prohibition on inbreeding is focused on biological relationship and on the conception of children whether through sexual intercourse or any other means such as IVF because of the health consequences for children produced via inbreeding.
